ICE hair extensions: how the cold method works
Share
Short answer: ICE (cold) extensions attach hair without heat. Nix ICE adhesive is applied to the strand and sets within seconds after the activator, so the client's own hair is never exposed to hot tongs. One bottle of Nix is enough for about two full extensions. ICE bonds can be worn until you remove them; because natural hair grows, a correction (move-up) is recommended every three months. Bonds are removed with Nix Remover: no more than one drop, and the strand comes off immediately.
Step by step
- Section the hair and prepare the extension strand.
- Apply Nix ICE adhesive to the bond area.
- Apply the activator: the bond sets in seconds.
- Shape the bond while it sets.
- To remove: apply one drop of Nix Remover and slide the strand off right away.
